TLC Creeps onto UPN in July UPN has set a date for its unscripted show "R U the Girl with T-Boz & Chilli," in which the surviving two members of R&B group TLC will sort-of-but-not-exactly look for a replacement for the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. The show, a talent search starring Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, is scheduled to bow at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday, July 27. It's scheduled to run for nine weeks, which will take UPN into the start of the fall season and, presumably, the return of "America's Next Top Model" to the time period.UPN describes "R U the Girl" as a "journey filled with emotion, comedy, surprises and special guests to look for that one lucky and talented girl who just might be the perfect fit." Over the course of the show, eight finalists will be put through a series of performance-related challenges, with the winner getting a chance to record a single with Watkins and Thomas for an upcoming TLC greatest-hits set. The winner will also perform live with the duo in the show's finale. The surviving members of TLC insist they're not looking to "replace" Lopes, who died in a car accident in 2002. Instead, they're calling the search a bridge to the "next stage of their careers."Jay Blumenfeld and Anthony Marsh ("The Road to Stardom with Missy Elliott," Showtime's "Family Business") are executive producing "R U the Girl" along with Watkins and Thomas.
